Light PR content here — just a few thoughts about why I’m here and why you’re reading it.
Those thoughts and more are in the “About this blog” section near the upper right of the page:
This is inspired by some of my PR-blogging colleagues who have addressed their reasons for being on the web.
This makes sense. Before you can persuade anyone of anything, you have to tell your story. If you don’t lay your motives on the table immediately, you’ll never get past those initial questions of “Why is he here? What is he selling? What’s in this for him?”
Consider yourself warned.

I like your “Comments Policy” (mine is similar)… though you will undoubtedly, eventually, be accused of stepping on the toes of free speech. Never mind that you pay for the bandwidth… it will escape some.
I know absolutely nothing… not a doggone thing about public relations. Prior to my 30th birthday, I was a people person and looked for the best in everyone I met. Since that benchmark in time, I trust no one and assume the worst of everyone… and that is not terribly healthy… but it is true so… I have to both claim it as my own and make the best of it.
I have to take the position of the consumer here… and someone who feels that the melding/merging of the smaller into the bigger is bad for the aforementioned. As we ramble down the road into this global market, it looks to be less productive, and above all, less consumer oriented.
I mean, how responsive is the manufacturer of, say, Slack-Eyed Gigglers when the consumer of the same is on the opposite side of the globe, speaks a different language and is held at bay by telephone technology designed to keep them there?
“Welcome to Jackleg Technologies. Our menu has changed. For a box of barbecue chicken wings, press 1. For the nearest Starbucks, press 2. For instructions to use toilet paper, press 3. To contact our NASCAR support office, press 4. If you are a consumer or if you have a complaint, please remain on the line. You are important to us but we are pretty busy doing other stuff right now so a bagged lunch and disposable razor may be a good investment…â€
PR……… geez. When was the last time that a real person answered a phone anywhere?
I apologize because I DO, honestly, like your blog.
I hope you won’t mind if I look in from time to time and by all means, feel free to visit my own rant…
